"the only things that are real are the ones that command my personal attention" is a type of logic you find in both infants and political pundits, but the babies wear it a lot better.
This is really an instance of a very longstanding trend where secular pundits end up unwittingly aligned with fundamentalists in treating the crudest and most extreme version of any faith as the genuine article and everything else as somehow inauthentic.
Trump's attempt to crush a religious uprising might be obvious if the press corps treated everyone’s faith as equally authentic, hence equally legitimate. It doesn’t.

it would probably be very easy for congressional republicans to get plenty of dem buy-in for banning gerrymandering at the federal level. but their allergy toward any kind of level playing field is finally working to our advantage.

the big problem for white christians is that they want race-blind capitalism (which benefits them economically) in a race-rigid theocracy (which benefits them socially). constitutional democracy exacerbates the inherent friction between those two goals, hence their hostility toward voting and law.

i have fondness for aspects of TP and SS, and BotW/TotKare very well made games, but in terms of trying to do interesting stuff with narrative and theme, second half doesn't really hold a candle to OoT/MM/WW. BoTW/TotK could have gotten there but just didn't commit.
