Opinion: One Less Lane Ought To Fix It — Streetsblog USA
Federal inaction means states must lead on reducing emissions — but their reluctance to reallocate road space for cars may doom climate goals.

At my request, birthday dinner was my mom’s enchiladas! A labor of love in the family, from freshly-roasted chile sauce to ~I-should-have-worn-gloves~ level of fresh chiles in the filling. A spicy tour de force for my annuation! #ChemistsWhoCook

*Finally* an article about e-bikes/e-motos that actually explains the distinction and makes reasonably policy prescriptions.

E-Bike Injuries Are Up 1,800%, But It's Not Actually E-Bikes: It's Electric Motorcycles
The vehicles causing a recent spike in injuries and worse aren't e-bikes. Here’s why, our solution, and how to differentiate an e-bike from an e-moto.

Just set up new water purifier at the new site and I cannot fathom WHO THIS DESIGN IS FOR. WHYYYYY

It has a 5L reservoir for feed water, fine. It refills itself via its own pump and tubing, fine.

IT DOESN’T TOLERATE ANY FEED LINE PRESSURE. YOU HAVE TO USE A FORKING BUCKET INSTEAD OF PLUMBING IT.

Did not imagine that I would experience 3 lab moves in 2025 🫠. At least I’m certain this is the last one!

I especially did not expect to do the packing of our chemical inventory 3 times 🙃, but proud that our only loss (so far) was a premixed polymerase that went at 4°C not -20. #chemchat

I’m sitting on SF MUNI and two ladies are having a conversation in both Spanish and Tagalog. They seamlessly codeswitch mid-sentence at a frequency that seems almost perfectly designed to pique curiosity but foil comprehension in Spanish-speaking eavesdroppers.

It’s truly a magical talent.

I am once again looking for cool 2026 calendars from small creators! Already have one from @sarahmackattack.bsky.social ready to go, but would welcome recommendations from other artists/photographers
Do you know of a small creator/artist/illustrator/photographer that makes calendars? I like to have a unique office calendar and desk calendar, obviously safe for work is a requirement.

Slop in journals is illuminating about journals’ quality control. And journals would like you to forget their mistakes.
