I really hate it when scientists keep saying that “we need to rebuild trust in science,” because it implies that scientists are to blame for the mistrust rather than the millions of dollars of dark money that have funded political attacks on science in order to advance a far right agenda.

As the weather cools and my fiber art gene reactivates for the year, i randomly remember the antiquepatternlibrary.org and spend a couple hours renaming and sorting the pdfs I downloaded last time I fell down the vintage crochet hole and found this book about tatting.

Not to mention authors don't get just ONE purchase. Libraries tend to purchase multiple copies of popular books, they also buy the physical audiobook, and audiobook streaming and ebook rights. Obviously not of EVERY book purchased, but requested/super popular ones they could buy all of these.
