All super rich guys sound the same now. It’s all “I sleep four hours a night and spend the other twenty hours a day developing a product that’s going to bring us the best widespread poverty anyone’s ever seen.”

I feel like AI slop ads is a “woke mob/cancel culture” initiative that everyone can get behind. These companies should be bullied into submission on this absolute garbage.
McDonald's has released an AI-generated Christmas ad

The studio behind it says they 'hardly slept' for several weeks while writing AI prompts and refining the shots — 'AI didn't make this film. We did'

Having survived five successive Xmases in retail during undergrad, I think it should be mandatory for everyone to work at least one Xmas in retail as empathy training.
(It's also why I still have PTSD around most Xmas music).
please be nice to service workers in the holiday season. a woman beside me waiting for coffee just said, out loud, in full earshot of the barista, "they're really slow, huh?" and all I wanted to do was tell the worker I'd be her alibi if she wanted to punch her

AI is a climate issue. AI is a climate crisis.
A few important points here

- Generative AI supercharged data centre growth: lobbyist and substacker lines pretending like this is just streaming are false

- Even when you consider much of the projected growth is speculative, the *likely* projects are still MASSIVE

Uhhh, so it hasn't really hit the normie news yet, but the latest thing AI is fucking over? Yeah, its the RAM market.

As in, their stupid datacentres are buying up RAM in such quantities that companies are slowing/stopping making normal consumer RAM to services AI bozos instead

How about we worry less, as a society, about whether individuals might be cheating to get a disability accommodation or some help buying food, and more about whether extremely wealthy people and corporations are paying their fair share of taxes?

Ooooo, Ponce to the Jays, intriguing!

Wonder if they see him as a starter or reliever or what

Wtf is going on lately that I'm starting to see cars/trucks with brake lights that are borderline high beam bright????

Like straight up just had a dude nearly blinding me while we were stopped at a stoplight. Changed lanes right after to avoid it, and his headlights were legit less bright, wtf

27.4% feels equal parts fair and also maybe low?

idk lol, but also its a win, given how large a portion of my life I was disallowed from cursing, so suck a dick, evangelical christian upbringing

What could be putting young women off marriage? It really isn’t that much of a mystery | Naoise Dolan
Survey data suggests more and more girls can’t imagine getting married, while their male counterparts are keener. That disparity holds a clue, says writer Naoise Dolan

A reminder for those who are not aware: "remigration" is the process of deporting all non-white people from a country. It includes citizens and is, by definition, ethnic cleansing.

And to be clear: this is not fake. I just screenshot it myself.

Might be a little late to party in gushing about it, but the new Hayley Williams solo album (Ego Death At A Bachelorette Party) is just absolutely incredible, hot damn.

The musicality, the vibes, the lyrics, and of course obviously the vocals? All just so so good

Also as much as this is bad policy and bad electoral, it also rewards a lot of really bad behaviour by Smith and her government, and it is no good for the country that if a province basically signals its unwillingness to follow federal legislation, the federal response is to say “go right ahead.”
