There's so much shit I haven’t bought because of these tariffs and I am PISSED about it. I haven’t foregone anything critical, but I need to replace my jade, and the seller I use is overseas. I’m not paying $2000 with the 100% tariff.
Give *everyone* their illegally collected taxes (what the White House and the media called "tariffs") back.

what if we had one nostril and two mouths (two tongues, two sets of teeth etc)
Why We Have Two Nostrils Instead of One Big Hole. (Great title!) “The nostrils alternate airflow from one side to the other. This may allow one side of the nose to rest.” [popsci.com]

when you're a diasporic korean of 8 years old on your second visit to korea, your uncles may take you to the independence hall museum, and at some point you might see life-size animatronics of brutal tortures used by the japanese occupiers like confinement boxes

and you will have nightmares after
They're using the confinement box, one of the most horrific methods of CIA torture in the post-9/11 black sites, against migrants now. This is the direct result of the lack of consequences for the architects of the torture program. Either there will be criminal penalties for this or it will expand.

Amnesty International, interviewing migrant detainees, identifies use of the confinement box. There can be no denying it is a torture prison

one thing to consider is that in the era of american decline, american dreams will become smaller, meaner, and more meager while still being portrayed as bountiful.

exhortations like this serve as a kind of propaganda to remind citizenry to want less

part of what makes airports like singapore's changi, korea's seoul-incheon, japan's tokyo (haneda) and tokyo (narita), and france's paris (cdg) regularly the "best airport experience in the world" is that the countries they're in invest heavily into infrastructure

the us... does not.

This is fundamentally incompatible with his whole (equally stupid) “dress up to fly” thing.

What do you want, bro? My nice clothes or my workout clothes? At least my pajamas aren’t from Effin’ Birds, I suppose.

A nice thing about living in the southern US is having yours and others' tires slashed earlier in the year, then later in the year getting followed home by cops who pull up into your apt complex, are very obviously running your plates... then drive off when you walk back around and they see you???

whether or not you talk about it

so don't use this as prooftext of any biases or anything

I'm just saying the thing, your own elephant is there whether you name it or not

because if we start telling the truth in all the places

maybe we can get the dirt clean

and have nothing to hide

is what

Share your knowledge if/when you can. Teaching other people how to do what you do doesn’t lessen your art - it just means more and better art for everyone.

I appreciate when people are willing to tell me about their brushes, how they study, etc… I want to put that back out into the world.

I'm seeing a lot of the same take of "you should have negotiated a better contract" and people need to understand that most don't have the option.

Marvel/Disney would just hire someone else they can underpay and exploit instead. That's how they operate...
