Does anyone know what Minneapolis library staff need right now? How do we support them? I know libraries are open & have been warm places for protestors. What can we do? #librariea

What I'm asking is that my romance book love makes me a perfect public policy professor. I'm certain someone is just waiting to endow the Romance Book Chair of Getting Public Policy Done for me.

the president can't just, like, ctrl+f+replace the little ICE man with Homan and be done with what has been wrought in Chicago, MSP, DC, LA, and countless other places

The medium is the message. Book Riot's reporting of the Youth Media Award winners is legible, clear, and has links to all the titles (on Amazon, no one's perfect). I tried three different library association award lists and none had all three. Enjoy this list. Buy some good books. Thank you, Kelly.

Reading this makes me think of when John Fox was the Bears coach. He broke his razor when his wife was out of town. He ended up growing a beard because he didn't know where to buy the razor. So many coaches brag about their hours, but there's almost always a woman who enables this.
I have seen this pretty often

A lot of the Male Loneliness Epidemic can be traced back to the fact that most cis dudes don’t participate in communal logistics.

I keep thinking about the Target corporation headquarters in Minneapolis and how given the venal nature of this administration they're likely a phone call away from stopping thus, so is Home Depot, so is every other major corporation that buys politicians for tax breaks and legal loopholes

I know the idea of “better” policing is as old a demand as civil rights movements in this country, the impulse to call for it at this moment is so terribly cruel that it can only be understood as aligned with the terrorists.

Commercial AI is dehumanization. It is evasion of accountability. It is the machine which has been chosen to smuggle totalitarianism into democracies.

Damn, Mark Warner
Moderate Dems watch: Mark Warner just posted he “cannot and will not vote to fund DHS while this administration continues these violent federal takeovers of our cities.”
The package with ICE funding will be in the Senate this week and will need Democratic votes to advance.
