Every day I think about my AP US History teacher and how she would have failed, with great relish, every asshole in the regime (and most of the elected Dems, too). And I wish I could hear her dress-down every last one of them.
The rhetoric today is nearly indistinguishable from Know-Nothing rhetoric about the Irish, the Italians, and the Jews.

It's funny that Hegseth calls himself "Secretary of War" and the admin talks about the "Department of War" when that's just... an unofficial rebrand. Congress never changed it. He's the Secretary of Defense, legally. They're just doing a bit. They changed the website to war dot gov and everything.

Especially for the racist trash talk, but I think even more generally people see Omar, and hear that Minneapolis has the country's biggest Somali community, and assume that must be a substantial chunk of her voters. The numerical reality is nowhere close to that, there just aren't that many of them.
