By the way, this is the other example of our native Opuntia fragilis cactus that I have. It looks less like a cactus and more like a day-glo coyote turd.

Anacortes is a special place. I had to run an errand downtown.
The auditory experience on the street was of friends chatting with each other (not automobiles).
I saw a hardy palm (Trachycarpus), the seed stalk aglow.
I pipped into the used bookstore and ran into friends, by happenstance.
