I have two degrees in internet. And I host a music podcast. He/Him/His
On this week’s Las Culturistas, Bowen talked about how going to clubs feels different because everyone is there for different reasons (dancing, hooking up, drinking, drugs, etc.) whereas at a concert everyone is there with a unified focus.

I love this as a way of thinking about social spaces.

wikipedia turns 25 today! the last unenshittified major website! backbone of online info! triumph of humanity! powered by urge of unpaid randos to correct each other! somehow mostly reliable! "good thing wikipedia works in practice, because it sure doesn't work in theory" - old wiki adage

Republicans control all 3 branches of government. Even when they don't, both parties pump out constant rhetoric about "real Americans" living in rural areas.

The entire premise of this article is a conservative-fluffing myth. Cities have more political power because that's where most people live!

Spent over an hour walking the beach with no phone or Apple Watch this weekend. Very rewarding.

Spent an evening solo traveling in a city with my phone and Apple Watch. Only slightly less rewarding

Just trying to remind myself that there’s a time and a place for these tools/toys.

Tv and internet got knocked out by the snow so this holiday is all about 1. Steely Dan on vinyl; 2. Crossword puzzles; 3. The morning show on dvd; and 4. Yahtzee. I’ve abruptly jumped up from newly middle aged to retiree

NBC or ABC could make a fortune by hiring the 60 Minutes staff lock, stock, and barrel, then relaunching it under a slightly different name. 2 Minutes 2 60 or something.

One nice thing about eating at an airport restaurant is they never ask if you’ve dined with them before. They’re just like no banter here’s a menu we know you have to be in the sky in half an hour.

It turns out, Arlo Guthrie has a website (Arlo.net) that he still updates himself. It still has a functioning daily view counter.

This week is the 50th anniversary of “Alice’s Restaurant.”

I think we can drive that view counter up a bit.

Can’t believe I’m saying this, but please post/reshare.

Just thinking about how Twin Peaks is a perceptive look at the Satanic Panic that aired as it was happening.

The supernatural hiding the mundane identity of the true perpetrator, the dubious therapy from Dr. Jacoby, the Pacific Northwest.

It’s “Michelle Remembers!”

How did Minx (2023-24) slip by without more praise?

It’s such a fun campy period comedy. Hopefully it does enough numbers to catch Serrandos’ eye

My husband has strep throat, so I’m masking in the office today, and man I forgot how annoying it is to constantly smell your own breath.

Even after brushing your teeth! Then it’s just intense mint smell for hours!
