If men need a "place," why is that place always "in control of women?"
My essay does, however, dismiss this “message” because it’s hogwash. Nobody is telling men they are unwanted at home—quite the opposite—but reifying this “message” does make it easier to vilify single moms (and stereotypical nagging wives).

the technology for estrogen releasing HRT pellets already exists, has proven efficacy, & there are some “mad scientist” style doctors willing to implant them!

unfortunately, it is not yet currently covered by most insurance corpos. one more reason to abolish for-profit healthcare speculators.

each of us contains the full genetic instructions for both testosterone & estrogen driven hormone loadouts (along with varying combos of both)

this can be changed at any time. our genes will even start expressing themselves differently within ~3-6 months.

this is an existential threat to fascists.
"current hormone loadout"
That legit makes me sound like a cyborg and I freaking dig it.

I don't think most people have any clue how much the boring company and Tesla set municipalities back.

It's hard enough getting politicians and admins to commit to sensible yet expensive public trans that pay for themselves over time when they think Tech magic is around the corner, you're fucked.
Watching all the defense wonks on my TL tear this NYT piece apart has been interesting. So many parallels to “Gadgetbahn” discourse in transportation policy. Editorial boards, pundits, and electeds are in love with the idea that “innovation” could relieve them of political problems and tradeoffs.
I see the gizmo cult has made its way into the NYT

I maintain no child ever does anything even half as bad as the average adult with even an iota of authority does like 474895 times a day, for their job, and this is why we should maybe have ONLY youth voter & electoral enfranchisement for a while, to see if the kids are okay, at being president etc

It’s very funny to me that countries are trying to pass laws banning teens from social media until they’re older and can “handle it” as if the last decade hasn’t been about watching rich middle aged men nuke their brains on Twitter and then run the USA via shitpost.
Dude. Yes. Alito and Thomas are of course the standout examples, but all of the Republican justices have tells in their writing and their questioning indicating that they are, to varying degrees, marinating their brains in dumb bitch juice
My theory, fwiw, is that Supreme Court Justices are not immune to Twitter brain poisoning. I suspect all six have horrific information environments and have therefore lost the ability to understand the people who don't agree with them.

We need to come up with better names for neurodivergent and mental disorders, because I guarantee people wouldn't call it fake if we called ADHD something like "dopamine deficiency syndrome," or depression "serotonin reuptake disorder" or whatever. It's exhausting.

Oh, here's a big surprise. The transphobes don't believe in ADHD either.
then, the transphobes , feeling victorious at how many people they have made unhappy and despairing in the previous week, move on to anything else that has a spectrum and the possibility of more colours than they can conceive - such hateful people - they cannot understand anything that is not THEM

Giving parents the discretion not to vaccinate their kids is one of the strongest ways the state reinforces the parent-child relationship as one of ownership.

Your parents have the ability to decide whether you will die of preventable disease, because you are their property not a person.
To be very clear: Kennedy's team is messing with a vaccine which has led to a 99 percent drop in the incidence of hepatitis B, which kills, early and painfully, 25 percent of the children who get it.

A church member at Urban Village Church sent this one along, where Mary, Joseph and Jesus are gone and replaced with a sign that reads: “Due to ICE activity in our community, the Holy Family is in hiding.”
