The Republican president is a pedophile who has doubled my healthcare costs and let scores of violent criminals out of jail. But a Democratic mayor-elect wants to make busses free in a city I don't live in. I have never felt more politically homeless.

Once again, if you wrote a story in which the jetsetting corrupt FBI chief took a government plane to the "Boondoggle Ranch" an editor would tell you to get a different job, because you're not cut out for writing believable stories.

Words are Hard even for Lawyers. Apparently United's lawyers are claiming "there is no reason to expect your Window seat to actually have a Window, Window just mean's it's on an exterior wall". I guess that makes sense in double-speak land.

In the century leading up to 1975, nearly 6000 freighters went down in the Great Lakes.

The Edmund Fitzgerald was the last.

The last. In 50 years, not a single commercial freighter has been lost in the Great Lakes.

Why?

It's NOAA. Of course it's NOAA.

Personal policy I wish more people would follow:

Send the student a copy of the letter of recommendation you wrote for them.

They need the encouragement, and will be comforted by the transparency. And if you can’t write a strong letter, be brave enough to say that, and decline to write it.

The "Deciding To Win" centrists dismiss base mobilization, but the actual 2024 data shows: the more blue a place was in 2020, the lower its turnout was in 2024.

Swing voters weren't nearly as important as Dem-leaning irregular voters not voting at all. The base wasn't mobilized, so we lost.

I would like for national political reporters to place a moratorium on “But what will voters in the rest of America think about New York City’s socialist mayor?” We don’t care! Red states are notably full of psycho politicians yet rarely do you see pundits asking Brooklyn people about them.

Wondering how you can help people w/ SNAP benefits ending, consider donating to your local food bank or non-profit. One of the local places I'm supporting this year because they support the farmers who grow food and work with orgs to get it to people who need it.

As an intern for Jon Tester’s campaign, I saw a disconnect between our claim to authentic Montanan populism and the reality on the ground. In 2025, we need something different.

The irony is that Trumpism very closely resembles Peronism on many levels (nationalism, populist economics, political repression). The Peronistas took Argentina from being one of the richest countries in the Americas to one of the poorest. Trumpism promises to deliver a similar fate for the US.
