i was expecting adobe to reverse course on shutting down animate because it affects major animation studios- who make a lot of money for adobe- but i didn’t think it would be in one day. they must’ve received a LOT of angry calls
Adobe appears to have reversed course on this. Animate is safe, at least for the immediate future.

Called and spoke with Adobe customer support and the guy told me Adobe is discontinuing Animate because apparently the company can't think of any new features to add to the program and they feel it's gotten stale.
