It's not far off from the flight paths that some of the 90's anti-weed-grower flights took. I kind of wonder if there are about to be some ICE/DEA joint ventures this planting season.

When I joined this league, it was intimidating. Now it's kind of motivating (?) to share a pair of lanes with an actual pro who is legit thrilled to see folks like me have a great game.

This is an excellent point. It’s also misguided to compare democratic backsliding in America with other countries by starting at Trump’s second term and not including the previous 24 years of democratic erosion by Republicans in all branches and levels of government

Look, if the government is shut down, but ICE is still terrorizing America, that makes a statement that even the low information folks will see. Those optics help with the goal of disbanding DHS, and we shouldn't pretend otherwise.

I monitored Nazi terror Telegram channels from 2019 to 2022 or so and it's hard to overstate the degree to which DHS's X account mimics the tone, aesthetic, voice, and language of those cess pits.

When we say "explicitly neo-Nazi" we mean channels that fly swastikas and praise Hitler. That's the zone of internet where DHS is apparently finding inspiration for their X posts. It's ultra unlikely they would have ever encountered that song if they weren't in that space, imo.
Our researchers found at least 450 posts on Telegram dating back to 2020 that shared the song mentioned in this reporting.
Nearly all the posts we found were from explicitly neo-Nazi and white supremacist channels. And a review of our datasets found it hasn't circulated much outside those circles.
