the 60 Minutes segment on CECOT that was cancelled last minute had apparently already been sent to Global-TV which aired it in Canada. I suppose that risk in very short notice changes didn't occur to bari weiss as someone who knows nothing about her job

(it's a 14 minute video, recorded on a phone)

Oooo foreshadowing the WSJ vending machine!

I love these annual nominees, lots that I remember that make me laugh again and some - like this one - that I missed and *have* to go find the rabbit hole.

December 22 #ArtAdventCalendar is one of my favourites. An old rail trestle bridge in SE Saskatchewan, discovered during a wandering-the-roads drive with my dad. That line would've gone south into the US.

It’s solstice December 21 #ArtAdventCalendar and that calls for lots of lights. Here’s a series of #aurora to go with the single shot from a few days ago. North, east, west-south-west and north again.

TOMORROW IS THE WINTER SOLSTICE AND Y'ALL KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS. It is time for the women (defined broadly) to hunt the Year King through the woods and tear him apart with their bare hands!

This comment and one million others are why Art Linkletter & Kids Say the Darndest Things was so popular. Kids unfiltered are absolutely side-splitting.

More of this kind of rich person, please.
It’s the “season of love and giving”…but this year, doesn’t it seem more like a “season of fear and taking”? Like many of you, I’ve been saddened by the human impact of draconian government budget cuts and how angry many housed Americans are at unhoused Americans.

The problem is do I use box office, critics, awards, domestic/global??
The #1 movie from when you were 10 is how your 2026 is going to go.

I would definitely eat candy off the ground, no matter what year it is.

December 19 #ArtAdventCalendar is an #aurora from August 2024. One of the most spectacular shows I’ve seen from the comfort of the north side of the farm!

Considering how tech “progress” in recent years seems less about real innovation and more about enshittification…can you imagine how bad current AI will be when it’s had a few years with the same tech-bro-central? How much enshittification is even possible? We’re gonna find out
I watched a manager try to use Copilot to do a holiday raffle this week live. He gave it a list 100ish members and 50 prizes and said no repeats, and it proceeded to award the same 7 people all prizes.

The number of waffling, stonewalling prompts it took to get that done would get a human fired.

December 18 #ArtAdventCalendar is another experiment from our local “try everything” class. Oil pastel (I think) still life. That right-hand pear is weird, yes, I agree. Fun medium to work with!

There’s nothing more infuriating than treating citizens like wallets. Yes, we pay taxes; that’s not all we do. You want people to move here and stay here, your prime focus can’t be constantly reducing taxes below what’s needed - it gets us here. Also, cut RPS along with everything else.
Hutchinson: I respect council & what they're up against. But we want we people to move to Regina. There's a tipping point in your rush to be responsible to the taxpayer… #yqrcc

December 15 #ArtAdventCalendar is not a fantastic shot, but we loved (with great caution) having this cow moose hang out in our and our neighbours’ yards. Sometimes the appeal & surprises are the art (we aren’t at all moose country!)
