At the time of Maher’s detention, disability advocates warned that taking away Wael’s caregiver put his life at risk.

The obvious difference between college protests for Palestinians in 2024 and the seeming lack of them now is that American unis are sanctioned from working with, investing in, and otherwise openly supporting the Iranian regime. The students had *local*, achievable goals for Palestine.
It is not "pedantic" to acknowledge that a college protest against Iran makes zero sense. Protests are typically against things, not in favor of rights movements in other countries!
