There’s only 1 person in Congress who doesn’t trade stocks, doesn’t take corporate PAC money, and has a public schedule. That’s me. And it should be the standard.

155% for oligarchs at home, and 155mm for oligarchs abroad!
This is basically where I'm at

The billionaire, like the dreadnought, is a "threat in being," his mere presence on the board affecting the way we interact with the political domain.

He's great when he's on your side. He's a problem when he isn't. And unlike a dreadnought, we can't control him.
It's kind of funny how Hayek's (mostly correct) argument against central planning because concentrating that much economic power in one place inevitably lead to totalitarian behavior is also a pretty strong argument against like, extreme concentrations of wealth and market power

Not really sure how you can see Evelyn Normielib (D, Texas) setting fire to a facility that might have the possibility of becoming an ICE concentration camp and despair about how Dem primary voters are gonna pick Gavin "We are Charlie Kirk" Newsom as the nominee

a place that wasn't a conservative media punching bag (like LA or Portland) had to make the first high profile stand in order to break through the walls of the information silos. MSP and Minnesota more broadly did it, and we all owe them a debt of gratitude for their courage and sacrifice.
We, Minnesota, woke up and woke others up to exactly what Trump's DHS is and who is responsible for it. The war won't end today, but we have to celebrate this. We will not let them turn the US into the Fourth Reich and now they, and we, know it.

Idk seems like you were already there and didn’t need an excuse, but what do I know?

Lyons: "Yes ma'am."

McIver: "How do you think Judgement Day will work for you with so much blood on your hands?"

"Do you think you're going to hell, Mr. Lyons?"

production of The Muppet Show should not be dependent on petty vulgarities like “ratings” or “revenue.” it should be preserved as a vital function of american culture. it should have a taxpayer-funded budget rivaling the CIA

This is true, and the main issue is that the caucus leadership, by being actively antagonistic towards both the left and militant liberals, has seriously undermined the relationship of trust you need to pull off this kind of maneuvering.
Hot take: people saying
1) "this is tactically well-calibrated going to make a big difference for immigrants and rapid responders" vs.

2) "this is not good enough, we need to abolish ICE, and we can't trust D leadership"

Are both correct, and both groups play an important part of our ecosystem.

This is what I suspect any "secession" efforts in the US are going to like too by the way; if Democrats win in 2028 you'll see states assert that they're still entitled to Federal support and aid but not obligated to obey any laws they don't like.
Alberta secessionist advocates eagerly proclaiming contrary to popular belief the cake can in fact be eaten while also having it

If you have more information about the District of Minnesota—either the court or the U.S. Attorney's Office—and how they are handling all of this, please reach out. I am at crg.32 on Signal.
