It's still so hard to believe that, just five years after somehow managing to finish *reading* my all-time favorite series in its original Japanese, out of all the people living here, I was the one chosen to finally give it the Portuguese translation it deserves.

I think a lot of translators are the same way, especially over the titles we hold closest to our hearts.

When I write dub scripts, it is an exercise in musicality, translation, and personal life experience. A prompter understands none of that.

People who use this technology do not want to be taught about a topic; they want the end result of having learned, without learning. I would guess for many this describes a feature, not a bug, of the technology.

The amount of people I know who have been laid off from games industry jobs and are deciding to leave games entirely as a result is not only extremely saddening (of course), but also genuinely scary. We have lost legitimately thousands of years of knowledge and experience in the last four years.
