There should be no replacement.
Defunding ICE entirely, and building a law-abiding replacement may not happen until we have D Congress and POTUS, but should nevertheless introduce legislation now and begin building public support for the redesign of the DHS and abolition of ICE and CBP open.substack.com/pub/contrari...

As we grieve for Alex Pretti and Renee Good in MN, please do not forget Victor Manuel Diaz, who died in ICE custody after being taken from here. And all others who have died in their custody.
36-year-old Nicaraguan national Victor Manuel Diaz died in ICE custody on Jan. 14 at Camp East Montana in El Paso.

The Texas Nicaraguan Community on FB reports that his mom last heard from him on Jan. 6, when he told her he was planning to go to Minneapolis to start work in a restaurant. 1/3

A lot of the people obsessed with the Epstein files being a distraction from everything don't and won't give a fuck about this kid and others like him.

I do.
Sharing this report of ICE depravity from Facebook at the request of community member. This is from a suburb north of ICE-occupied Minneapolis.

The text is from her post on Facebook.

This. It’s very isolating and difficult
It's really hard to date when you are disabled cause once people know the full extent of your disabilities and how it's affected your life. People run away. Doesn't matter how amazing or kind you are or whether you're independent. They don't care. It's very isolating.

If you are a white citizen you have no fucking idea how terrifying it is to be an immigrant and watch what's happening.

It's like alternate currents of fire and ice running through my veins. And a lot of us have to stay a lot quieter than we want to about how we really feel.

Hi friends. My husband's paperwork has finally been sent, but we don't know when his money will come through. He's also still looking for work.
We would need about 300$ -
100 for wifi, electricity, medication
100 for my commute to work
100 for groceries, toiletries
If anyone can help, I'd be so

Advice if you are planning to attend to rallies, vigils and protests.

1. Before you get involved, be sure you know what it is and who you are getting involved with, know what it is you can and cannot risk, what it is you are willing to sacrifice.

“At least 35 people died in ICE custody last year. That is not a failure of training. That is the manufacturing of premature death. And what we want is an end to that violence — however it’s dealt out, however it’s dressed up, however it’s defended.”
Tonight, I was one of more than 200 people who gathered on Chicago’s North Side to mourn Renee Nicole Good. Several people asked me to publish my remarks from the vigil, so I’m sharing them here.
