I was on a bus once which went the wrong way and the driver said “Oh, sorry, I thought it was a 70, not a 75” and then went the right way again and now I’m wondering if it was a metaphor for something

If this counts, it’s ‘33’ from Battlestar Galactica, which is actually the first episode of the series, but after the pilot miniseries.
What’s the best second episode of a tv show?

Italian voice actor Carlo Bononi was the voice of all of the characters on Pingu. A trained clown by trade, he used a theater technique called grammelot, which consists of "speaking" in a mix of babbled gibberish noises. He improvised all the voices live and unscripted.

It’s nuts that you can openly do this kind of gross professional misconduct, and the actual solution is ‘well, the voters won’t stand for this!’

18. GF agreed to stay over when my parents went to a model railway convention. Pizza. Intermission. Breakfast. We'd saved garlic bread and I warmed it. I served her and asked how much condensed milk she wanted on it. That's when I learned most people have it without.

Head canon:

Pingu is clearly seen interacting with a polar bear. Pingu therefore can only be a northern hemisphere penguin - aka the great auk, aka the OG penguin.

Pingu is amongst the last survivors of a species thought to be extinct.

No amount of planting can ever substitute veteran trees: as habitat, as climate regulation, and for sheer *character*.

Only being wild, self-seeded, and the passage of time produces this.

All those who wrongly believe that nature collapse might be 'sad', but won't really affect them in any way, badly need to wake up.

Nature isn't just 'nice to have'.

Planet Earth is only liveable – for *us* too – due to the regulating effects of natural ecosystems.

i feel like the viral bus thread resonates because at every step of the way you're like "ok surely this will be resolved shortly, any second now," which seems like what all the passengers are also thinking. then the fact that the situation doesn't resolve and the bus just keeps going is an Allegory

It's funny that one of the things people learn as very small children is "you get better at doing the thing by doing the thing."

Everyone learns this as a small kid, it is very obviously completely true.

And using genAI manages to instantly make people forget it, and start arguing about it.
