it is almost as if accommodating and conceding to far right ideas legitimizes them and signals to voters that the far right is a legitimate choice for governance
The Danish Social Democrats are currently on course for their worst election result since at least the Second World War, despite their brand of far-right accommodationism being touted as a blueprint for other centre-left parties.

I think it’s pretty clear at this point that one of the main impacts of LLMs is to disrupt thinking: to make it so that far too many people never properly learn how to do it, and then to control the output so there are thoughts that people never learn how to think.

I know it’s too much to expect them to know their history, but if the American Revolution had a motto, it definitely would not have been “immigrants go home.”

It would have been “get your fucking soldiers out of our cities.”
America... boy, I dunno.

Conservatives make way more sense if you accept that whatever they want to be true is true as far as they're concerned. You find this tendency across the entire spectrum of right wing beliefs. It's more spiritually certain way to live, that's for sure. It's also abhorrent.

Remember, kids: A real big goal of "AI" is to entirely sever capital from labor, and no, there will be no universal basic income, you can all just starve and die, thanks

AI is already taking jobs away from entry-level workers
Software and customer service are most at risk right now and could be the canary in the coal mine.

One of the victories of the "AI" industry is that the use of the word "intelligence" for their product has led to people conflating a massive appropriation of intellectual property for an database sorted and outputted with algorithms, with what actually happens in human brain, one artwork at a time.
Real question: Don't actual human artists appropriate prior artists' work without consent to train their "Natural Intelligence" without compensation? (Really interested in your thoughts, not trying to be a dick.)

So now that Denmark holds the EU presidency, theyre pushing Chat Control back onto the European Parliament again. That means breaking encryption & automatically scanning & flagging all private communications online.

EU fam, contact your reps:

The EU still wants to scan all your chats – and the rules could come into force by October 2025

We got more than 1000 people.

In case anyone doesn't know the connection, the idea is to impose heavy restrictions on anything pornographic or adult oriented like this, and *then* to broaden the definition of pornographic to include basically any queer displays. Today, it's the porn games on Steam, tomorrow it might be Celeste.

Mastercard's new policy unfairly targets the adult content industry, making sex workers more vulnerable, especially Black trans women. It must be stopped.
