Email comms strategist in Los Angeles. She/her, “Ohio rizz” mom of a “six seven” kid, 40 or 50 years old, same height as Dolly Parton. Quietly panicking about world obliteration while sipping a jasmine green tea, probably.
I’d almost forgotten what absence of brutality looks and sounds like, this is delightful 🩷

Going through this deck was…grimly delightful? Anyway, I was calmly nodding along with everything, until I hit the slide “‘MORE TIME TO FOCUS ON HIGHER VALUE TASKS’ IS A DOGWHISTLE FOR LAYOFFS”

I feel like I’m witnessing a version of this at my company, what a horribly accurate gut punch ❤️‍🩹
I had the pleasure of talking about the AI puppet dance at #ndcai today. Thanks to everyone who showed up! Slides are here: einarwh.no/slides/2025/...

This video is Art. Is it just me, or do the visuals have a Talking Heads vibe?
i love MIKA so much and he released a single that 90's dance mixed with egyptian mythology; and, honestly, i just really needed this right now.

I never expected to have a strong opinion about a White House bathroom before, but I now miss the quiet simplicity of the Truman-era Lincoln bathroom. That green tile was lovely.

Whenever people complain about the number of folks relying on food stamps, it is worth reminding them that SNAP is, by too large of a degree, a subsidy for corporations that refuse to pay a living wage and their political allies who reject public policy prescriptions to reduce income inequality.

Capitalism is even failing the military-industrial complex. Wild times.

"Instead of hiring workers & paying workers more in an effort to retain them, these companies are far more focused on meeting the demands of Wall Street, trying to entice investors and boost their stock price by cutting costs"

This summer, employees at several big defense companies went on strike. Their grievances highlight a much larger problem brewing beneath the surface.

I care about exactly one thing in all of this bullshit: they are using any excuse at all to come after queer people, minorities, and leftists.

Keep your head up. You are not alone. They will not succeed.

Libraries and information are one front of the war against democracy and decency and librarians are heroes. When the man says, "This can't be America," I want to hug him. It always was for some people. And the fight has spread around the world. Take care and good luck.

I had no idea Tom Lehrer was the composer for The Electric Company…and now that I’ve just listened to some of the songs with my middle-aged ears, nothing could be more obvious. RIP Lehrer, he was truly a joyous barrel of monkeys 💖

Name two completely unrelated movies that share the same director

(I debated showing Misery vs. When Harry Met Sally, or vs. The Princess Bride, but then figured maybe those were too obvious?)

🚨BREAKING: Cal State LA just moved classes online and let faculty work remotely, not for a storm, not for COVID, but because ICE is in the area.

Let that sink in, an entire university is treating immigration enforcement like a public health crisis.

What’s the most obscure thing you quote?

In an episode of “The Real Ghostbusters,” a ghost stylist says “Oh my aching ectoplasm, what a night! If I do one more head today I’ll live.” It’s fun to say when I’m so exhausted I could fall asleep standing up.
What’s the most obscure thing you quote?

There’s a scene in Rumble in the Bronx where Jackie Chan is beating up gangsters in a little apartment and the kid who lives there is repeatedly asking “What’s happening now??!!”
What's the most obscure thing you quote?

When a series of life events are so ridiculous they would be too implausible or hackneyed for a book or script, I say: "Real life writes real bad." It's from a short story by Timothy Findley in the collection Stones.
