Tired public sociologist focused on disability justice, conservatorships, and service delivery systems. Covid cautious. I love kindness, plants, birding, and happy hour walks with my dog.

Greetings fellow #Newskies & #Dogskies!
In an effort to connect here, I'll share pics of my 🧡, "Mia".

She is 2 yrs old, and a 60 lb mix of Rottweiler + land shark + princess, and may even be part gremlin!

We enjoy birding, sociology, reading, & happy hour walks! Hope to connect with kind people.

Alice Wong was a fierce advocate for disabled people and a brilliant writer.

Her last words were: “Don’t let the bastards grind you down. I love you all.”

I hear you Alice, the fight for disability justice continues.

Adding to this, I don't think people fully realize that this country has deported many US military veterans.

When I was in Tijuana a couple of years ago, the border wall along the beach separating Tijuana from San Diego is full of names of deported vets.

Truly shocking to see the magnitude of it.
