The #Rethinking94 presentation right now is arguing we can have a lot of benefits of freeway removal right next to the freeway, with attractive renderings of spacious bike lanes & happy families sitting & relaxing in a park-like atmosphere. Noise of whizzing traffic & diesel fumes not portrayed

We're going to read more and more about regulating dangerous "e-bikes," which are actually electric motorcycles. Why not tell your concerns to the 40,000+ US families each year mourning their dead loved ones, whose lives were taken by the terribly lethal cars and trucks we've decided are essential.

Just asked a conductor his thoughts on ending Northstar and he’s against it. Says it will cost more to decommission* it than it would to run it for the next 15 years.

*demolish stations, remove signals and switches etc
I am not kidding when I say I want trains so I can joyride them to get breakfast in small towns I would never drive to

It just takes time and you aren't going to be good at it right away! You do not have to be "gifted"

"At that point, the “future of transportation” that “does not get drunk, tired or distracted” as the company describes it"...you know what else doesn't get drunk, tired, or distracted? Public transit. Also, jesus christ, let's just keep isolating ourselves in cars.

And how much Transportation is hidden in the other categories? What portion of Housing costs is the garage under your apartment building? What portion of Food is the sea of parking surrounding the supermarket? What portion of Healthcare is car-related injury and respiratory disease?
Transportation costs are the second largest burden on American family budgets (17%), after housing (33%)!
To address the affordability crisis, we must create cities with abundant housing of all types (subsidized, social, coop, market rate) and make walking, biking, and taking transit convenient.

My most woke opinion is that cities should completely ignore suburban commuters and design the city we aspire to be. They’ll either begrudgingly commute in by car, mode shift, or be replaced by others in foot traffic
"my least woke opinion is---"

That's enough. We've had enough people indulging in the "thrill of a little conservatism", as a treat. Of considering reactionary thought to be a salacious and taboo in a world descending into reactionary mania.

Give me your MOST woke opinions. We're bringing it back.

One idly wonders whether the county was waiting to see, when deciding whether to proceed with the existing street design or rework it, whether the composition of the city council might change
YOUR advocacy is working! "..., we have heard feedback regarding how we can: better separate people walking, rolling and biking; provide a transit advantage; and preserve parking and trees."

My house is affected by the water main cleaning, which @minneapolismn.gov Public Works has brilliantly let go through the first freeze. Myself and all my neighbors temporary water lines, hoses outside, are frozen, so we have no water access. They are replacing them today only to freeze again.
