i don’t see how any of the benefits of chatgpt and other consumer-facing LLMs can possibly outweigh their incredible ability to induce suicides

Find me a piece of ed tech from the past thirty years that's genuinely more about student learning than it is about extracting more labor from fewer teachers. Can't be done!
Every pedagogical argument I see is essentially "You could use it to do something you already do but you will also have to do a lot of setup and double check everything it does."

I understand that YouTube is the dominant cultural delivery method of our age but i genuinely don’t understand it. I don’t want video of my audio entertainment. I listen while I’m doing other things. I don’t even know what the use case would be for me.
