Israel used to have a huge socialist movement amongst its society, kibbutz etc. The situation would be very different now if that had been its guiding light, rather than Sharon/Netanyahu
imagine what would be if the american jewish establishment had sidelined jewish republicans and never went along with netanyahu’s policies and instead fought him tooth-and-nail out of love for israel. we could have had two states, normalized relations, and significantly less antisemitism by now.
