I see UK institutions haven’t taken Rule 1 of the anti-tyranny handbook to heart then.

There’s no democratic element to any of this: it’s Britain’s astonishingly poisonous media outlets and their tame politicians, who they can destroy whenever they want, hand in hand with billionaire-funded crackpot activists. Gangsters, musing about one carelessly dropped match.

I wouldn’t go expecting anyone to stand up to legal threats or the British press. Everyone knows where power lies and we have all seen over and over what happens to anyone who puts up even token resistance against them. The whole system will fold, with lip service and nothing more.

Yesterday Zack got a bit of a kicking from Rory on the Rest is Politics.

Apart from the fact that Rory is a total moron there were some points that Zack needed to brush up on.

The day one thing you’d do as a Green PM (which let’s face it is unlikely but so what) is to stop the BoE …

if i had been able to transition younger i very likely would have been a girl scout. this is heartbreaking and its perpetration is an act of abject evil
i hope every single person who still buys harry potter merch or engages with that franchise is happy that they're literally making girl guides cry

girl guides uk have been forced very much against their will to exclude trans girls. full statement is here: www.girlguiding.org.uk/information-...

For non-Brits: nobody can afford to get sued by revved-up wingnuts and crackpots armed with JK Rowling’s money, and nobody wants to be the next organisation protested by the far right and monstered into the heart of the earth by the world’s most poisonous media outlets. So they are folding.

Honestly, this is it right here.

Do you use AI on the job?
Execs: yes, my job is 87% vibes and 0% consequences
Managers: yes, I spend half my time managing up and never got proper training to manage down
Workers: only the 27% of the time I waste justifying my job to my boss

GenAI is TPS reports.
When they make AI manager, do you think it'll be *suspenders* boss or *more flare* boss?

0-0 half time, 2-0 full time feels like exactly what Liverpool needed today. Control throughout, no real drama.

A real building block of a performance today. Love it.

Up the Reds.

Despite creating two big chances, I can’t say I like Cody Gakpo’s game today. It’s not the worst he’s played, and he even passed to Kerkez once(!) but it’s still very frustrating. If he’s not making the direct run to cut inside, he looks lost.

#LFC should have bought Kamada as soon as Bobby left. Very similar profile and could’ve played the same role.
Oh well. He’s also a lesson to give players time to settle. Was awful the first season he was at Palace, now very good.

Last season: Liverpool replace a beloved manager, squad doesn't change, team stays good

This season: Liverpool replace key players while others age into their mid-thirties, manager doesn't change, team gets worse

Clearly the manager is the issue here
