joining the "cybertruck owners only" group on fb is one of the best decisions i've ever made. every so often when i'm scrolling through fb getting pissed off, i get to see a little treat like this

X Had an issue stopping my Cybertruck from a low speed the other day and had to make a choice to crash it or risk going tumbling down a mountain to probable death. Sucks to see, but it held up well and only a few minor scrapes and bruises. Still going over every choice made and trying to understand why it would not stop and was gaining speed from 5 mph to 12+ while on the brakes. ABS was probably hurting more than helping on this 26° downhill angle. Hoping to be able to talk to someone at Tesla as I have the crash recorder data already. If this analysis is correct, then the situation is actually much more bleak than Savage’s argument would suggest. If diversification efforts generated a huge change, then the backlash to it might be acceptable, something worth risking and weathering if it comes. Instead, what appears to have happened is a lot of empty talk, no real significant change, and backlash that is causing real harm. This is the worst of all possible worlds.

During Jim Henson's first show, Sam and Friends, he often pushed the bounds of puppetry. His most infamous pursuit is a muppet called Ophel, built out of animal bone and sinew to create "a better illusion of life".
"It's like he had a mind of his own" said Henson, "We got rid of him after one show."

Apart from the fact the leader of the right mocked Reiner, one small difference is that Reiner's day job was making movies that people loved, while Kirk's starting point was creating enemies list of professors to be fired or harassed. These are not the same things.

Adding to this, the idea that concept art is some sort of tedium you can cut corners on is genuinely insulting. Concept art is the bedrock to a setting's entire visual identity, and cutting corners on it is akin to shooting yourself in the foot to win a race.

It's the very thing that inspired Anthony Daniels to go for the role of Threepio and perform him as such.

It is the first heartbeat of the art that now exists.
The memorable concept art for R2-D2 and C-3P0 standing on Tatooine. Threepio looks dramatically different, and yet possesses the same characteristics that would go on to inspire the character we all know and love.
