In my professional bubble, it’s a war. The technical folks hate it because being 2/3 right is killing someone the other third of the time, and the marketing folks love it because they hate writing, writers, real work, and the truth.
this is a bluesky bubble opinion. 800M+ people use chatgpt every week. I hate Facebook and Instagram and I wish they didn’t exist, but 3B and 2B people use them every month, respectively. it’s very hard to picture a mass or even a niche left backlash against them
i think tech and ai positive people are going to be in for a big shock when anti tech and anti ai sentiment becomes a major part of leftwing politics going forward especially as datacenters continue to destroy communities and raise electricity bills

“isn’t it hard to cut the back out?”

Nothing a pair of Italian kitchen shears and a Mora knife can’t do in the kitchen.
Account rep on my only call of the day asked how I cook my turkey and I rattled off "spatchcock, brine for 36 hours, 450 for 30 minutes then 375 for 2 hours rest covered for 1 hour" like I was calling in coordinates for an air strike

Toasted pecans can do anything
I think Pecan Pie is one of those things that is divisive now because it’s just a blob of sugar with nuts on it but to someone 150 years ago who ate shoes it was probably like having 12 orgasms at once

Why this brings to mind the tidily dressed middle class professional dads of my friends in Atlanta?
I have long posited that Daniel Craig's accent in Glass Onion is better than Knives Out because in Knives Out he is trying to do a real Southern accent and is bad at it but in Glass Onion he is just talking like Foghorn Leghorn, which is something a real gay Southern weirdo would do.

Better catalog than The Replacements imo, not counting their 90s major label era.
Soul Asylum’s “While You Were Out” LP was released on this date in 1986. It’s nice that whoever runs the band’s social media is on top of this stuff, and they posted the photo below among several others.

Against it. Wildfire mitigation is a multi-layered multi-entity enterprise, but the energy companies need to bear the full cost of maintaining and failing to maintain their equipment.

3/4 (?) of the deadliest and most costly fires of the past decade have been literally their damn fault?
Some CA legislator should propose a bill to move wildfire mitigation costs out of electricity bills & into the general fund. It's more honest (the whole state is affected), more progressive (electricity bills are *extremely* regressive), & would, at a stroke, lower CA electric bills.
