The thing is, you can criticise the US political-economic-media ecosystem, but at least they have the decency to cite the Laffer Curve, as opposed to this smug bullshit British pundits do so people don’t realise they’re citing an economic theory that was scribbled on the back of a cocktail napkin.

one of the coolest things about ChatGPT is how you can actually just never use it. you can fill your whole entire life with simply not once using it. it's incredible.

I was scared of cars as a child because I saw a face in the headlights and grille and thought they were alive. I was a child though.

Louay sent me these photos of his children. Thank you to Ruth Marshall for your donation. Let's work for more

It's obvious they need more help, look at sweet Malak not yet two months old, she has known only hardship. Love alone cannot keep her warm, but you can

What’s the charge? Enjoying a succulent Chinese meal?
It comes after our @jessicaelgot.bsky.social revealed that criminals will be stopped from “gaming the system” by choosing trial by jury to increase chances of proceedings collapsing - and that govt was planning radical changes to limit jury trials by next election.

Increasing minimum wage for under 20s is one thing but when corporations will chose not to hire people over their profit margins this will make the situation worse.

Organisations used to be taxed 90% on profit so they pumped millions into the R&D or staff dev., or offering better bonuses.

I just want to live in a world where every upward facing surface has a solar panel strapped to it.

Is that too much to ask?

Beginning to think that Reeves is really susceptible to the fact that the human mind isn't really capable of understanding big numbers and is assuming £600m which in the terms of our budget is peanuts, is worth collapsing universities over.

I 100% agree but I cannot tell you how bad it looks that this has become an urgent issue now, when they’re leading the polls, and it was a secondary issue at best for the last two decades when the lads had more important shit they wanted to focus on.

This Mfer is using leeches on his blood, why are we talking to him about scientific ontology?
“The entire purpose of science is to search for existential truths,” Robert F. Kennedy Jr. told me. “It’s not subjective. It should be objective. I believe science is a place where you can find unity if you can get a conversation going.” www.theatlantic.com/magazine/202...

When you've whittled pop cultural understanding of "proper" economics down to essentially Laffer Curve 3.0, you are going to be a bit huffy when someone goes "No, hang on, how are *you* understanding supply and demand economics?" instead of "Ah, you're right, I'll apologise to Reeves et al."

It's fascinating that people who clearly have no idea about Keynesian economics, have no concept of borrowing to invest, never mind fiat currency, surplus value etc, call other people economic illiterates.
