Most importantly, Miller is wrong. Plenty of stable societies existed that did not conform to his "iron laws". Such "laws" might apply, however, to centralised, hierarchical political systems, especially those dominated by psychopaths like Stephen Miller.
"We live in a world, in the real world … that is governed by strength, that is governed by force, that is governed by power. These are the iron laws of the world since the beginning of time."

And with these words, Stephen Miller damns his soul to hell for all eternity.

NEW: A mass propaganda event is about to engulf the US news cycle and what, if anything, survives it will be a lesson for our times.

But it’s what the rest of the world does now that’s key. When someone tells you who they are, believe them.

Days like this are a stark reminder that the UK undertook Brexit at historically the worst possible moment. Bloc politics is here to stay and fiddlearsing about with 2mm advances towards smoother customs arrangements with the EU is not the leadership Britain needs.

Britain left the EU because people told us we had greater security and financial relationships with the USA.

Happy now?

There is, to my mind, no justification for the continued use by the UK Government of X as a platform for official comms. There hasn't been for some time, in fact, but if the latest developments around AI-generated image abuse and CSAM don't change the policy I really don't know what will.

You'd think the British government (and everyone else still using X for 'reach') would not want to be known to be frequenting a platform that carries and actually generates child porn. And yet they keep posting there.
Meanwhile, at the other place:

Why not a government pledge to leave Musk's platforms by the end of the month, in response to Grok and X's disgraceful and persistent contributions to the problem? @torstenbell.bsky.social

It's also such an easy political win.

Point to Musk donating to far right groups like Rupert Lowe's and his previous support for Reform and say they're being funded by a noncebot.
If the British government, and indeed other governments, can’t muster a fast and strong response to Twitter adding a facility enabling users to create and share AI child sexual abuse material then not sure what Musk could ever do that would actually provoke a response.

I love the idea that governments have to stay on Twitter because that's where "their audience" is.

Like if you only announced your cabinet reshuffles on Bluesky Harry bloody Cole wouldn't make an account to read about it.

The whole sales pitch broke the law, but I guess that's by the by.

The US president being reduced to the role of dodgy car salesman seems rather fitting though.

Hello @bphillipsonmp.bsky.social. The DfE and @ofstednews.bsky.social should not be posting on a social media site where users are openly posting abusive images of women and children without censure. Why are government accounts still there, thus encouraging teachers to stay? You must be aware of it.

The commodification of play is a scandal. Indoor play areas that have to be driven to, soft play, trampoline parks, expensive 'experiences' that have to be booked & organised, & attended by adults for the duration.
When all kids actually need is green space and a safe way to get to it.
parent eventually drives child to park for the always exciting pre-organized play date.
