Their map centered cities papering over very easily accessible footage from small towns and suburbs and making it seem like a liberal thing
You can always count on The New York Times to minimize the scale and impact of protest.

Yesterday's 2000+ No Kings actions smashed records for the most demonstrations in a single day.

So the Times decided to publish a horseshit map of just a handful of "confirmed locations."

We're not fooled.

“We want justice, you say how? ICE out New York City now.”

“No justice, no peace. We want ICE off our streets.”

Thousands march past the Ellis Island mural in lower Manhattan against ICE and in solidarity with sanctuary cities targeted by ICE across the country.

Every flashbang could instead be a meal for a poor kid. Every hotel room for a National Guardsman deployed to fire at our neighbors could house a homeless vet. Every "less-than-lethal" bullet pulled from a journalist's eye could be already needed healthcare for anyone else. All of this is a choice.

Mental health calls to police can be deadly, but alternatives remain underfunded, @lewispants.bsky.social reports. The death of Aaron Rainey, shot & killed by Philadelphia police in March, has renewed calls for reliable, 24/7 non-police crisis & emergency response teams.

So I’ve been thinking about this for the last couple days and I’m gonna say this as kindly as I can but…

These protest sure as hell are starting to look like they are not about popular pushback, but about recuperating radical energy and stopping actual rebellion against the fascists.

When they say peaceful they mean not disruptive. They interpret any interruption of the status quo as violent
"it's not peaceful for people to be on the highway" -LA Mayor Karen Bass right now.

This is what I mean when I say the word "peaceful" as applied to protesters is about prescribing placidity, not nonviolence.

Calmly marching on a freeway is pretty inarguably nonviolent. " Peaceful" you can debate
