Any account blaming dems for what repubs have done and what voters did should be treated with suspicion. It's a midterm year and they've come here to suppress the vote.

Bigots don't make things worse to cultivate bigotry.

Bigots make things worse because they are dumb and their beliefs are at odds with the laws of creation.

Trump isn't damaging the economy with tariffs to make people bigoted, he's doing them because he's literally tariff otaku.

Social media really throws into sharp relief many maladaptive behaviors (and also enables and encourages them). People would lead much more tranquil and pleasant lives if they just blocked those who annoy them and stopped thinking about them (or if they exited social media completely).
oh brother, another bad post from political influencer beltway brian. i am furious at beltway brian all of the time. i share screencaps of beltway brian's posts with people who have no idea who he is. i hate all of beltway brian's posts and i read all of them every single day, including weekends

I firmly believe we're going to survive this era -- broken, hobbled, with decades of rebuilding that will not be finished in my lifetime -- but we are going to survive and every asshole who collaborated in the effort to destroy this country will forever wear the stain of it.

The running theme between the Epstein story, banning trans healthcare for minors, religious homeschooling and the complaints about adult children estranging themselves is a fundamental American belief that children are property with no rights of their own
America is a culture of child abuse. Ask any survivor - we find one another, we form networks and communities.

The true scale of it would stagger and sicken you, and so it is buried, it is swept under the rug, it is denied and the survivors are silenced by whatever means are necessary.

Pay attention to how the mainstream media frames the shutdown deal over the next week or so. The more they portray it as Republicans giving concessions to Democrats, the more likely it is that the White House reflexively torpedoes it.

I don’t see how this shutdown could’ve ended much better for us, and I do see a million ways it could’ve ended much worse.
any bsky poaster have a theory of victory aligned with keeping the govt shutdown indefinitely I'm all ears, because again I think I've got a history that's pretty indicative I'm more than supportive of COAs that fuck me over personally if there's a viable path to an achievable end state
Okay so again, you gonna forgo your income for another 13 months?

Because you're asking me and a couple million of your fellow citizens to do that, and I don't think it's too much to ask for a plausible theory of victory aligned with that COA

The DNC is openly trashing this deal, the House Dems are calling the Senate "the enemy," yet surely this was all a highly coordinated feint by Schumer who openly opposed it as a shit deal…

The answer is... Not really. Civilian oversight of policing is mostly akin to asking a sitting dog to sit. It's easier to pretend what the cops do is what you wanted than it is to make them do what you want.
Does the Governor of Illinois have any control over these thugs? They ought to be protecting the protestors from ICE, not the other way around.
