Just give Sound Transit permitting authority over their own land. We do that for the Port of Seattle already.

Public agencies should be allowed to self permit to deliver the projects the public voted for. We don’t need the City of Kent reviewing their work

I published this piece in 2015. I stand by it.

As we shore up & stabilize the transit system we have, let’s continually work to make it better. Subways are a part of that vision.

We used to quickly build lots of things that make people’s lives better. Let’s get back to that.

nina turner is unique in the way in which her career has demonstrated the pathologies of both the Democratic left (low-trust grifter incapable of organizing a child's birthday party) and center (incompetent suck-up who rose through party offices, on charter school payroll, aggrieved at tiny slights)
all else aside it's absolutely hilarious to me that someone is stating in what-is-assumed-to-be-good-faith that the Democratic National Committee, an organization that mostly does paperwork for other politicians, could or should organize mass civil disobedience
Nina Turner is an unserious grifter

The YVRR should be added to the California State rail plan & rebuilt ASAP. A new alignment to deal with shifts and encroachment of the original ROW would be needed.

Then after it's complete, running with new swiss style equipment, (electric, large windows) automobiles are fully banned.
Reminder that until 1945 you could take a train to Yosemite!

From sleepy Merced, the Yosemite Valley RR swept passengers on a winding route through the scenic foothills, delivering tourists straight to El Portal!

No doubt, such a train would be well used, given Yosemite's typical grueling traffic.
