First they said it’s not airborne, but it is a problem…

…and people died and the economy went splat.

Then they said it is airborne, but now it’s not a problem big enough to do anything about…

…and people are still dying, getting chronically ill and the economy is meh*.

I sent my friend,
who used to work in public health,
an article about plans
“to gut vaccine promotion
and HIV prevention office,”
and I asked them
what they think will happen next,
and in response they said:
people will die,
lots of people will suffer and die.

We do not "catch up" on measles infections. Stop it with this immunity debt nonsense.
Frankly one of the dumbest pieces of effectively pro-infection propaganda I’ve ever read. This infectious disease doctor thinks lockdown-induced immunity debt may have caused the Ontario measles outbreak even though this same Toronto Star article points out 96% of cases are along the unvaccinated.

There is not over diagnosis there is an increase in those people suffering with mental illness who need support

For someone who says he follows the evidence @rthonwesstreeting.bsky.social seems to be struggling to grapple with the diagnosis here

Brilliant to see our "Importance of DEI in Science" report covered by @resprofnews.bsky.social today!

Our report has been getting traction - I hope because we're meeting a need from scientists to push back on the attacks on DEI in science.

@eddavey.libdems.org.uk NHS waiting Times remain high because the incorrect IPC guidance is in place. Streeting isn’t following WHO either. Long covid is the problem not disabled people. Welfare cuts will do nothing to fix the situation they will just compound the problem.
[10 Dec 2024] Opening Remarks from Dr Tedros at yesterday’s @who.int media briefing:

“We cannot talk about COVID in the past tense.

“It’s still with us, it still causes acute disease and Long COVID, and it still kills.

“The world might want to forget about COVID-19, but we cannot afford to.”

Unsurprising that British food and drink exports to the EU have tumbled by more than a third since Brexit.

This is the reality of how Brexit pettifogging bureaucracy has changed the relationship with our most important trading partner.

I need all HCWs to understand the tremendous privilege and responsibility they have to their patients.

We are putting our lives in your hands. Your comfort or personal politics must be left outside the hospital
A Plea to Maskless Healthcare Workers from Vulnerable Patients
If you see a mask - wear a mask. Better yet - wear a mask all the time and show us you understand that we're still IN a pandemic. We are depending on you to keep us safe - please don't betray that.

It's simply not good enough for govt to admit we could still see corridor care next winter. Emergency care should always have been the first priority.

The MSM has been blasting ppl with lies about Covid and its harm, refusing to acknowledge literally all peer reviewed scientific research showing that Covid causes permanent bodily damage, to instead push foundational anti vaxx beliefs like getting reinfected w viruses is "good" for you (it's not!!)
Liberals joined conservatives to mainstream anti-vax beliefs about viruses and public health
Viruses are bad for kids' health. Public health is a collective effort. Liberals no longer believe either.

Anyway, WEAR A MASK. Covid is airborne and wearing a respirator is the single biggest step you can take to prevent infection. Also, try to stay in well ventilated areas/avoid crowded indoor spaces, test and encourage others to test, stay home if you're sick, and get vaccinated to help prevent death
