A thing I've been mulling over for a while:
- if you have a favourite airport in your country you are flying too much.
- if you can rate airports all over your continent you are flying way too much
- if you can rate airports all over the world you are flying way WAY too much
Climate change is real

Good Afternoon Bluesky! I managed to sneak out to a bayou close to my house for lunch today to grab this shot. I am not sad to see 25 in my rearview, now onto new beginnings! I hope y'all don't mind seeing me post more often in 26!

As we experience a huge surge of flu cases, a reminder that the widespread usage of masks at the start of the COVID pandemic wiped out a strain of the flu.

If you haven’t been masking up lately, now would be a great time to restart.
The Covid-19 pandemic killed off one strain of the flu, and that will change the next vaccines | CNN
For 10 years, Americans have had access to flu shots that protect against four strains of the virus: two A strains and two B strains. Starting this fall, however, all the flu shots distributed in the ...

Check out the wings on this great grey owl. They can hear a vole well enough under two feet of snow that they can plunge their feet through and grab it.

Our home is built on the site of what was several buildings, with some parts dating back to the 1720s. The 1st floor landing still looks much like the 1920s interior and has many original features.

I seem to have upset the Nigel Farage fan club - so let me be clear.

This man sows hate, lies and division.

He is a grifter and a conman.

He does not represent the vast majority of Britons.

Repost if you agree

P.s. multiculturalism is great.

October highlights... also from the wonderful local Hockeridge Woods. The mushrooms were incredible, but so were the trees. It's so lovely to spend time in forests, especially when they're a 15 minute walk from your new house :)

It's is always a good time to declare your support for our sisters and brothers, so please British women, sign the letter! If the money put in to persecuting trans people had been put into acting against those who really harm women we could start reducing the daily toll of injuries and death.
We are now at 75k signatures, with many messages of support on Instagram, Facebook and here.

This is a genuine groundswell of love over hate, and a call to focus on the real harms faced by women and girls.

Thank you all who’ve signed and shared. Let’s keep it going 💜

There’s a new wave of hyper-nostalgia for a mythical ‘Britain’ that needs addressing, because it’s based on a number of false, and often rotten assumptions, as the state decomposes in itself and its adherents become hysterical in rancid bigotry.

A revealing and helpful thread by @cargobikeben.bsky.social on thinking through a job offer with an active commute, health and well-being lens.
I was recently approached by a recruiter about a job opportunity. They have known me for ages (I've both placed and been placed by her over the years), and so she knows my salary. "It's a £10,000 increase on what you're on today". Only, it wasn't.
