When I was homeless in 2019, the Salvation Army shelter refused to give me a bed (even though they were available), because I was on immunosuppressant meds and they didn’t want to be responsible or liable if I got more sick or died on premises. They’d rather I die on the street.

I'm seeing a lot of political posts with images & no alt-text. A reminder: alt-text makes your post accessible to blind & low-vision users, & as disabled people are some of those most regularly & viciously targeted by this administration, they deserve & need to be included & informed in activism.

Ely is built on a hill of mud in a plain of mud. When they wanted to stabilise it to build bigger, they basically reinforced the hill with a sunken wicker fence made of oak trees. The attitude now is "it seems to be working, don't poke it." So far so good.

This really doesn't seem like it should be hard.
I don't think we should allow casual nazism into our spaces or allow it to hold power. It's really upsetting how even people I normally respect and listen to are also trying to normalize this. There's PLENTY of time to support another person. Why are they dying on this hill.
