NIGEL FARAGE STOLE MY SATSUMAS
2. New customs rules due to the UK now being outside of the EU single market.
The extra time, effort, paperwork, and risk of importing such perishable low value fruit means that almost all satsumas get sent to the easily accessible markets inside the EU.

U.S. plans to stop recommending most childhood vaccines, defer to doctors
The plan, which is not finalized, suggests children get fewer shots and shifts to a model telling parents to consult doctors to make their own vaccine choices.

Even by my low expectations for Kemi Badenoch ‘violence against women and girls is something done by immigrants and nobody else’ has shocked me.
Dog-whistle and factually incorrect. Ladies, raise your hand if you were sexually assaulted by a boy at school? I’d wager this or a family member is most women’s first experience of sexual violence

Love this analysis of Burnham (and Khan, but I'm a northerner so)
Is it a Manchester version of how Londoners (including me) just like Sadiq Khan because he so obviously is one of us and shares our worldview (in our case, “London is open, progressive, tolerant and welcome AND THAT’S WHY WE’RE NUMBER ONE BABYYY RACISM IS FOR WHATEVER SHIT PLACE YOU’RE FROM”)

TIL about a memorial ceremony in Iceland in 2019 to mark the end of a glacier, changing the place name from Okjökull to Ok (jökull = glacier). Uncompromising wording on the bronze plaque:
"This is to acknowledge that we know what is happening and what needs to be done. Only you know if we did it".
