I keep thinking about this fact that his last words were are you okay and hers were I'm not mad at you and it feels like a weird coincidence but it's just a reflection of the fact that the people who are coming out to take care of their neighbors are good and the people who are after them are bad

100% accurate. They tell you to be nice, neutral, non-partisan, and unbiased only in a manner as to use these things as a weapon against you, to shut down debate, and silence you, as they feel none of that stuff applies to them.
There are no rules, they don’t actually care about respect, decorum, bipartisanship or debate, and only pretend to do so to browbeat you into submission. Nothing is going to change until more people realise that and respond accordingly; including to the media and politicians who have failed them.

When we say that the War on Drugs has always been a pretext for political suppression, this is exactly the kind of thing we mean. Legalizing all drugs is not a frivolous goal, it's necessary for pulling the rug out from under US imperialism (and its domestic slavery factories aka prisons)
