Remember, masks aren’t just for Covid!

They also help protect against colds, flu, measles, RSV and more.

They guard against pollution, wild fire smoke and pollen.

A well fitted respirator can keep you healthy while also protecting those around you.

It’s radical community care.

i really truly wish any of the epstein furore was caused by a genuine concern for cruelty for teenage girls, for exploited kids. it would be a different country if it was, of course, but the discourse is sometimes jarring

If you’re serious about resisting, the easiest direct action you can take is to start wearing an N95 mask in public.

This thread is a great explanation of how masking is solidarity, masking is resistance to fascism, and it not only protects you, it protects POC, LGBTQ+ and disabled communities
As more States propose mask bans, I want to take a moment to discuss claims that it’s “fear mongering” to say that masking is illegal.

People claim the medical exemption is “good enough”.

This ignores three critical points. Public perception, anti mask sentiment and rampant ableism

DON’T MEMORY HOLE ELON MUSK’S NAZI SALUTE

It’s been 4 weeks and 1 day since Elon Musk loudly vocalized his support for Nazi ideology

Everything that has happened since has happened with the guidance of an open Nazi

This should be repeated in articles, regularly

Something you can do to stand against RFK jr’s attempt to make us all sicker is wear a mask when you share air with others. Resist mask bans. People who cannot afford to get sick have a right to exist in public. Masking will protect your health from him too.
BREAKING: RFK Jr. was just confirmed HHS Secretary 48-52.

If you’re worried about the state of healthcare under the Trump administration, you should wear a mask.

It won’t just protect you from COVID! A respirator protects from all kinds of viruses, wildfire smoke, pollen & more.

It sends a clear message that you care about your health & health of others

if they are willing to sacrifice things like “wording this EO in a way that makes it possible for a court to interpret what it means” for acting fast enough to overwhelm you with despair, they consider you in a not-despairing state to be a greater threat than the courts alone

If you're seeing encouragement/demands to do alt text and you're overwhelmed or confused about how to do it and you're worried you're going to do it wrong...

this thread is for you.

First: prompt questions to get you started.
Alt text prompt Qs:

What would someone who can't see the image need to know about it in order to take part in the conversation? What is it about this image that made you choose it? What are the important details someone who could see the image would take away from it?

Folks Jack Dorsey has zero to do with Bluesky. Early on he was spouting his usual bullshit about unmoderated platforms and the users chased him off the site. (He doesn’t believe in moderation but can’t handle getting yelled at.) Not long after that he quit the board and washed his hands of the site.

In the past few days since the election, I’ve seen people’s asks for queer friendly and PoC friendly firearms training.

I can absolutely understand people’s desire to find a sense of control and safety in the chaos and danger.
