The thing about what happened to Kirk is that it is, in many ways, the culmination of his life's work. He worked tirelessly to make this country the kind of place where this kind of violence happens. Condemning violence even against those trying to make it happen isn't just empty virtue signaling.

I am absolutely not volunteering but I think that every T&S team should have at least one person on it (or paid consultants) who has been a big target for harassment before. So many decisions I see seem to come down to not really *understanding* what this is like & how it actually happens.
