The media strategy of trying to satisfy bad faith critics while dismissing long-time customers, and treating truth and lies as equal, covering both as "politician said" or "polls show some voters think," did not decide the election.
But it sure looks like a journalistic, economic, and moral failure.

Weird how none of the What Democrats Should Do Now articles say "Lie incessantly" and "Be super racist," because those things definitely work.

This is how the story of Trump's campaign is being rewritten as something that just spoke to genuine discontent, not the vile hatefest it actually was.

Keep them off social media for as long as you possibly can, and teach them about how the algorithms are designed to create alienation and radicalization, because hate creates more engagement than positivity. Media literacy is the most important thing to learn these days.

I am thinking of a logo or hat or something simple that I can wear, post, tag, and put everywhere.

Yeah. Pretty dumb. Better idea would be if a contractor shows up to bid a job with a Trump sticker on his truck, find someone else. Stop buying crap from people who want you gone, dead or silent.
This is what Trump wants, you asshole. Turning citizens against POC in both parties. Blocky block

“Regular people” is doing a ton of work here. Just remember that this phrase now includes not just the racists but the people who saw the racism and said “Yes, more please!”

Which is just my cue to reiterate my constant call for con law and fed court and federalism types to flood the law reviews with what local resistance to federal judicial extremism looks like.

I'm hard pressed to think of scholarship with more value than that right now.

i hate the democratic party as much or more than most but this is nonsense. Dems provided an alternative; it was Not Fascism. people had a binary choice and about half the electorate picked fascism.

it’s what a huge chunk of the electorate wants! we have to address that head on.
The democrats couldn't sell a viable alternative to fascism. Twice! At what point do you look in the mirror and stop blaming everyone else?

Amazing how Netanyahu can completely fuck up two countries at the same time!
Fox News exit polls show a significant erosion of Jewish support for the Democratic presidential candidate in New York, a state with a large Jewish American population.

Harris 56%
Trump 43%

One thing Democrats really don't have the power to fix: The end of the old MSM's power to shape opinion, and the power of the richest man in the world using new media to shift voters to the right.

Not a coincidence that anti-trans ads had their breakthrough two years after Elon bought Twitter.

If women use all available courses of action *nod nod, wink wink*, I don’t think they have to use chains to keep men from the polls.
If you know any men who haven’t voted, chain them to your radiator.

Wonder when then will get around to saying that “original intent” is just as frivolous an argument?

Minor point but "half the country" remains a very wrong way to describe close elections.

Registered voters are ≈48% of the population. Among registered voters, ≈70% vote.

In 2020, a mere 22.4% of the country voted for Trump.

Not "half."
