So folks,

Who's picking up the baton?

We are rightly very proud of the folks who have been pushing their asses off.

If you're reading this and you're looking for something to do, please please please speak up so that the folks who are running themselves ragged can tag out.
I’m seeing more and more Minneapolis/Minnesota people naming that they are burned out and I just hope people allow themselves to change their pacing from sprint to marathon or better yet, a relay.

Slow down if the alternative is you crashing out and not being able to do anything.

I keep turning those numbers around and around in my head. During the coldest stretch of the winter we got an average of 34 hot meals a day to unhoused ppl & ppl experiencing food insecurity. We’re nearing 1000 burritos, plus 100s of tacos, tamales & dozens of pizzas. Pastries from local panaderias.
It’s been another busy week dealing with the ICE occupation in Minneapolis, but I wanted to give you a Burrito update!

We started this project just over 5 weeks ago, and since then we’ve provided over 1150 meals for people, and spent almost $12k at local, immigrant-owned restaurants!

Can a DC reporter ask Mike Johnson if he's ever seen anything ever?

More to the point, why don't reporters come armed with phones ready to show Johnson all the things he claims to have not seen.

This is a long thread but you should read it.

In related news, judges *must* start holding AUSAs in contempt (and then locking them up) if we want this to stop without more bloodshed.
I don’t really know what I expect in posting this, but maybe some people see it and can learn from it.

I’ll call it “lessons from an unwilling immigration attorney.”

And please thank lawyers doing this work. We’re carrying a lot of trauma for voiceless clients. We are tired. We have become experts in new law under the most dire circumstances.

If you can, donate to immigration defense funds. They’ve been at it the longest and have the least resources.

This is the second account - the first being in Chicago - of DHS agents mass detaining people and then *sorting them by race*.
More than 400 people, including hundreds of citizens, were “sorted” at gun point into racial and ethnic groups by 200 ICE agents who fired flash-bang grenades into cars with people inside, pointed guns at children & demanded their zip tied parents not comfort them. apple.news/Ausdx6kWtT0e...

you can just not fund this shit under any circumstances

you don’t have to pretend they need better training, or are doing an important job incorrectly

they’re just racist thugs doing ethnic cleansing and the whole gang should be in jail

One reason I am so furious with state and local officials who are cooperating with ICE is because it dignifies the pretense that the ongoing occupation is only bad because officers shot people. That would be horrible even if it were true, but it's not true: it's a campaign of destruction against us.

Every photo from Minneapolis looks like this. Cops decked out with guns and full tac gear facing off against people in bathrobes, parkas, and sweatpants armed only with whistles and cell phones.

Yet every verified MAGA chode on X dutifully calls it a riot or violent insurrection.

All House Dems present and voting again today, which Republicans still have only achieved on one vote.
PASSED: the House just passed the resolution to end Trump's tariffs on Canada.

Not many crosses from Republicans, a lot of vulnerable incumbents took a dumb vote here to stick with Trump and GOP leadership. Goes to the Senate, which is likely to pass it.

Will share the vote sheet when I have it!

Believe it or not, observers are generally aware that we and our vehicles are known to the feds, and as such, there’s a pretty strict firewall between observers and vulnerable people
How do you think they get ideas of where to go to pick up people? They use locals! Mostly it's cops and other types like that; but its not that sophisticated to just mark and follow people ( which we have all heard they do.) You think tracking their phone b/c they have his number isn't happening to?

Of course, the current chair of the House Judiciary Committee is Jim Jordan, so you can get why Pam Bondi would assume he wouldn't care about getting justice for the victims of sexual assault.
I can't think of an attorney general ever showing this much open contempt for Congress before.

Not only would most of them think this kind of conduct was beneath them, they'd have known that the Judiciary Committee chair, whatever the party, would never stand for clownish antics like this.
Bondi is now just straight up ignoring questions from Democratic members

“Increasingly”?

It’s not just about symmetry; it’s about an unwillingness to call out reality for what it is. This is very similar to the “escalation” language.
i am increasingly bothered by terms like "showdown" or "face-off" or "clash" when used to describe corrupt and fascist power coming up against resistance because there's an implied symmetry that does not exist.

It’s wild to me that more Democrats don’t see these numbers and smell blood in the water. Instead, they want to step back. They wanna go back to having nice polite dinner parties.
New Strib poll confirms my rough guess: 1/3rd of Minnesotans are shitheads who support ICE, but 2/3rds are with us. 69% in the ‘burbs! (Abolish ICE, like Defund the Police, is a public-opinion loser. Still, 79% say ICE should abolished OR reformed.) www.startribune.com/poll-trumps-... (gift link) 1/
