Popped over to the other place to check on someone and chanced on these. Got me thinking. I’m old enough not to be bothered by angry strangers. But exposure to faceless hate on social media must be very disturbing for young people who don’t have the tools or perspective. It worries me.

There is an extraordinary sense of entitlement behind the belief that there ought to be political party that aligns 100% with your own opinions.

If you told me we’d be five up on City 13 games in with Øde, Havertz, Madueke, Martinelli, Gyok, Saka, and Gabriel all having missed decent chunks of time I’d think I was being lied to. I’m as emotional as they come but I don’t understand the headloss today. Team was shit and still got a point.

I wish we had not succumbed to a Szobo wonder goal, had not coughed up the lead late to Sunderland, and taken advantage of the extra man today.

I am also keenly aware that wishing this all had happened is setting the bar at near-perfection.

That’s sort of at the edge of barely reasonable.

Arsenal have played many of their toughest Premier League fixtures already.
Five points clear having been to Newcastle, United, Liverpool and Chelsea. Could be a lot worse

Missed the last 20 due to a car ride. My take is that’s a good point. At even strength we looked in a bit of trouble. The red card bought us a point.

Need our CBs back but also good to get that game out of our system and that pairing can only improve if called on again.

Up 5.

Pretty darn good.

I'll take that. No Saliba, no Gabriel, no Odegaard to start or a striker.

We weren't at our best. We didn't lose. Been a big week with a lot of energy and emotion expended.

Bring on Brentford.

AFC playing the 2nd place team on the road w/o 1st choice CBs. 1st choice R8 on bench due to prior injury. 1st choice LW out injured. 1st and 2nd choice strikers either out or on the bench returning from injury.

Jonathan Wilson giddily teeing up a story on our mentality, if things don’t go right.

Absolutely enraging to read about how the Labour government could have done a fantastic supply side boosting growth unleashing Budget and just didn't have the nerve or insight. And when there's so many journalists and think tankers who could have explained exactly what to do

We see that in course choices, too: often for the worse (to mount my hobby horse, the real scam in HE is the 'business degree' to an undergrad who would be better served just by getting a maths or history degree).

Why on earth should you get over this? If you lived in 1920 and knew a Klansman, you should look down on him. If you lived in 1940 and knew a fascist, you should look down on him.

The grand progressive listening tour doesn’t work, these people need censure to change. Proudly hold contempt for them.
So one of my political sins that I know I should get over is that I do have the problem of holding Trump's base in contempt and looking down on them, and part of it is that my image of who they are is heavily informed by the one MAGA guy who shows up regularly on my FB feed; I'll call him J.

A lot of people who anointed Liverpool champions in September suddenly don’t think it means anything to be the best team in Europe in November.

The amount of people who just want to suck all the joy out of football is so aggrivating. Every Arsenal fan is keenly aware that titles aren’t handed out in November. But we’re watching our team blossom into something truly special. So yeah, we’re gonna enjoy it. So kindly fuck off.

Fascinating that the cash ISA limit is the most unpopular item in the budget. I would have thought it would be unpopular but not more so than e.g. freezing tax thresholds.

The fact that every single PM this century has been more unpopular than the previous one shows that the electorate is impossible to please. We are simply predisposed to automatically hate every government no matter what. I don't know how that's sustainable long-term.

Labour have no chance, do they? What a terrible take.
Rachel Reeves on #C4News saying Labour are now lifting 450,000 children out of poverty by removing the two child benefit cap

So an admission that Labour kept 450,000 children in poverty for the past year because they didn't care enough about child poverty to lift them out of it last year

We are an “unlikeable” team. Whenever someone is challenged as to what criteria that is based on, it always falls down. I have my own theories as to where all that was born (1980s racism, we had diverse teams and a diverse fan base), and the attitude towards us pervades through to the modern day

If your takeaway after yesterday is “Arsenal are a set piece club” and “Arsenal like to play the long ball” then I think your manager has done an absolutely terrible job at preparing you for your match.
