This is only a slight exaggeration: they basically don’t think that subject matter expertise is real because every scientific discipline uses symbolic math and programming as tools at the highest level, so therefore people good at those things understand everything and don’t need anyone else.
The Silicon Valley fascists genuinely think that technology (i.e., cool robots and spaceships) has nothing to do with science (i.e., girls filling out spreadsheets wokely). I am not being sarcastic. I know that sounds insane. But that's really what they think.
The top priority for Trump 2.0 is to punish the libs and science is lib-coded despite “STEM” being centrist to conservative coded because the pro-STEM rhetoric is really just anti-humanities rhetoric, they don’t actually support science and half of them think the Earth is 6,000 years-old.
