obviously not in the sense that it’s stopping everything, but they are being stalled so much by trying to find places where they aren’t watched, wasting so much manpower and resources on crowd control and even arresting observers they know will just get released. i am so proud of everyone

For all the talk of "climate pragmatism" (basically, doing stuff that further enriches billionaires and pleases autocrats and also might reduce emissions a bit), most paths to genuine US climate action run first through deep system reform that makes this country an actual, functioning democracy.
