Streeting was this week talking about the completion of the "data linkage" study proposed by Cass, which would pick through the lifetime medical history of anyone who had ever attended GIDS, without express permission being given.

In the light of this, suggest you consider an opt out.
Streeting confirmed in parliament today that the "data linkage" study is still underway and will be completed.
As far as I know the SI that Sajid Javid used is still in force till 2027? Presumably there are still folks working on that “data linkage” study that gives access to the medical records of anyone who ever was referred to GIDS.

Political prisoners in the UK - I don't think this is getting much coverage. Stuff we can do in this toolkit.
The eight Palestine Action hunger strikers have now been held without trial for months, and three have been hospitalised. Here's a toolkit with 11 proposed actions you can take to support them.

Complaint to the BBC Peggie case reporting and here's the reply. Referring to trans people as "biological ---- who identify as---". Ignored the identify slur but using biological is ok as it simplifies things. For clarity from now on chromosomes will define everyone b/c bigots feelings matter

The ban on puberty blockers is devastating for many young trans people. Currently the only way to access them is through a government trial - I am asking govt to ensure that the trial can be accessed by as many young people as need it.

Cycling and walking could help deliver almost everything Brits say they want to achieve in 2026 — if we design streets to support them.

Getting fitter, losing weight, being healthier, saving money; enabling active travel quietly does all of it. With no gym contracts.

As someone who recently found I am intersex it turns out what letter was written on my birth certificate would give you at the very least a pretty incomplete understanding of my anatomy. I think we can expect better from our health service than these dangerous and inaccurate generalisations.
Also pissed off at Steeting going off on "biological sex is immutable for screening and healthcare" in parliament, if ignoring that we very much should be treated according to our current anatomy and hormones, and that treating us as our birth assigned sex will cause serious healthcare failures.

There is also much *more* evidence against the Cass Review's puberty blocker recommendations now than when I gave evidence to the UK Commission in October 2024. New research continues to demonstrate benefits, professional organisations continue to recommend use, Cass is increasingly critiqued.
What’s wrong with the Cass Review? A round-up of commentary and evidence
[last updated 15/10/25] Wednesday 10 April 2024 saw the long-awaited publication of the final report of the Cass Review. This report was commissioned by NHS England, and provides a review of eviden…

And teachers smoking in classrooms.
I lived thru the end of public smoking. Early in my career I presented to city councils who were smoking, in front of audiences who were smoking.

Smoking in restaurants, airplanes, hospitals…

All of that seems insane now, but it was very controversial when we DID change it.

We CAN change things.
It’s crazy that people used to be able to just smoke cigarettes wherever they wanted

“Dutch people cycle an average of 2.6km each per day. If this pattern was replicated worldwide, annual carbon emissions would drop by 686 million tonnes.

This mammoth figure exceeds the entire carbon footprint of most countries, including the UK, Canada, Saudi Arabia and Australia.” @euronews.com
Cycling like the Dutch would slash the world’s carbon footprint
If everybody cycled like the Dutch, we could offset the UK or Australia’s entire carbon footprint.

Very sad that I felt I had no choice but to resign from The Infinite Monkey Cage - a victory for the transphobes and other bigots - I did it because so much of the media has chosen to believe the kind and empathetic people are a fiction - they are real and so often unrepresented.

The piece was then scrubbed - replacing an accurate description with a transphobic slur instead of the language trans women use to describe themselves
