Kim Kardashian asked four psychics if she was going to pass the bar, revealing a somewhat deficient understanding of the concept of jurisdiction.
To wit. Stay in your lane. This moron is yelling about her psychics lying to her saying she was gonna pass. Yes her psychics.

Rick Scott was CEO of a large, for-profit healthcare company called HCA. While Rick Scott was CEO, HCA stole so much money from Medicare they were fined $1.7 Billion.
Rick Scott told me his plan would be to take all of the remaining ACA subsidies and redistribute them to HSA accounts and people can then buy whatever insurance a state certifies. Basically a repeal/replace.
He denied when I asked wouldn’t that create two-tiered system where sick pay much more…

I'm considering teaching Silent Spring in my new class 'Theorizing the 20th Century' to cover the environmental movement & maturation of a technocratic mentality associated with the growth of the state. There's a critique of modernity here but I worry it's so familiar as to strike students as banal
This is the table of contents of Rachel Carson's Silent Spring. Look at those chapter titles!

"Elixirs of Death," "And No Birds Sing," "Indiscriminately from the Skies," "One in Every Four," "Beyond the Dreams of the Borgias," "Nature Fights Back."

Irresistible! How could not want to read these

Vance has been harder on his wife than he is on the Hitler lover, who often refers to him as "fat boy" and his wife by a racial slur. Makes Ted Cruz look like Costner in The Bodyguard.
Vance shares a strange immunity with Trump.

The press cannot or will not pierce through his rhetoric to see the what-should-be-obvious danger of the man.

This includes:
1. Vance follows lots of neo-Nazis on X
2. His championing of Germany's far right
3. HE'S WELCOMING HITLER LOVERS INTO THE GOP
JD Vance now leads the GOP. And he wants the party to welcome Hitler lovers.
And the press refuses to reckon with what this means.

this is important context: destroying SNAP has been on the GOP wishlist for a longtime. (The same with the ACA). Tax cuts for trillionaire Elon Musk? No problem. Food for hungry people? Nah.
The Trump admin fucking up state administrative capacity to provide SNAP benefits is not just a feature of the shutdown. This is their long-term plan to reduce SNAP.

Soon, GOP will start talking block grants due to administrative complexity they created.

I'm gonna put this out there, because this seems to be the latest maga talking point.
Yes, there was a bill to continue SNAP funding.
Yes, Democrats voted against it - because republicans placed into the bill a NATIONWIDE ABORTION BAN!
The reason they did that?
So they could say shit like this.

Politicians complicate things. But this whole issue of why the House has closed down for the past 5 months and why Adelita Grijalva isn’t sworn in yet likely isn’t complicated at all. The answer is likely pretty damn simple: Trump is most likely a pedophile, and Speaker Johnson knows it. That’s all.

Yeah I really miss X-er, where I got doxxed for retweeting articles that were critical of Charlie Kirk and had people put my address, phone number, and wife's name on the Internet.

So you can f--k right off to Musk Island with the other creeps.
It is so lucky for Democrats that this kind of discourse is no longer on Twitter where the national media and politicians would see it. Better for it to be sealed off in this asylum. This is genuinely just insane.
Robert Byrd seemed to genuinely repent for his past and spent decades atoning for it, to the point where the NAACP mourned his death as the loss of a civil rights champion. People can indeed change.

But there's no sign of a similar arc of sincere repentance and reckoning in Platner's case.
