I have to confess that between a personal bereavement and the attack in Australia, I'm struggling against the dark today.

But then I see a list of just a few of the things we've done in a week and it lifts me.
8 things this Labour Government announced last week:

I want all of us to focus on telling the story of this Labour government, of how we are rewiring the country so it works more in the interests of ordinary people with better pay, better jobs, better housing, better public services. If we don’t no-one else will.

My kids woke up so excited this morning for the first night of Hannukah and now yet again we have a festival where I’m very conflicted about whether it’s safe to take them to synagogue to celebrate. Communities shouldn’t have to live like this.

We’re off to light the Menorah. We, a non-Jewish family, do that every year in memory and in place of our forebears whose lives were cut short by antisemitism. Today we feel again exactly how that could happen. Love to those Jewish families who suffered today. 🕎

I spent 25 years as an NHS nurse and even returned to the frontline during the pandemic, so I know the passion and dedication our staff bring every day.

With flu hospitalisation up by 55% in just one week and NHS services under pressure, I urge the BMA to put patients first.

The Tories say that all parties want to tackle child poverty.

Sadly, it's not true. Only Labour have taken action.

We'll drive the largest reduction of child poverty within a single Parliament.

Deeds, not words.

It’s sort of amazing & terrifying. Because this *is* what a digital coup looks like.

I was so proud to sit with colleagues on this Bill Committee. It was an extremely collegiate affair with the opposition doing a good job of probing (with only a few lapses into petty politics!)
Proud to be on this Bill Committee for the Hillsborough Law.

Especially proud to be with my colleagues
@ianbyrnemp.bsky.social & Maria Eagle MP, who have worked on this for years.

I fully support the areas to be strengthened & will work with families, NowHillsborough & MPs.

I'm really pleased that the accusations against Farage are quite rightly not going away. He appears very, very rattled and deservedly so.

This is very long overdue.
