After seeing one bond guy struggle with basic percentages on live television and another fail at elementary game theory on Bluesky within weeks of one another, really starting to buy the idea that the 40-year bull market in fixed income made successes out of some stone-cold morons.
This is incredibly embarrassing for PIMCO IMO.
As regards the reporting below from the NYT:

It's easy to hand-wave about capitalism bc capitalism is mostly outside our sphere of influence, but way too often what we're actually mad about is what the market is offering and that is something over which we have some power....
The conflation of capitalism where free capital is used for investment to fund growth and free markets where people choose which products/services to provide/consume has a lot of people mad at one thing so they can avoid their responsibility in the other.
