one of the great conservative moves over the past decade has been to make themselves so unpleasant that their own family members are forced to cut them off, and then use that fact to argue that *liberals* are too uncivil

If you can't bring yourself to say that REPUBLICANS voted to pass the largest job killing bill in history,

and that REPUBLICANS voted to betray working people,

then you aren't FOR the people.

Be HONEST about who did this.

Enough with bothsidesism bullshit and lies.
Congress voted to pass the largest job-killing bill in history.

Congress voted to take away health care from 17 million people to pay for tax breaks for billionaires.

Congress voted to take away food assistance from 3 million people.

Congress voted to betray working people.

legal analysts keep saying “you know, the rule the court established isn’t unreasonable, it may even be good!” But the thing is that it’s not the rule at all. You’re being told Calvin’s latest rule in Calvinball and thinking “ok well this one makes sense.”

the primary reason you impeach him is because every waking moment of American civic and political life should be about the incompetence and tyranny of Donald Trump
What would the point be of another Trump impeachment when he’s a lame duck and Rs won’t convict him?

Dems need an answer for the remnant of resistance people who are demanding impeachment but far more important for them to use normal Oversight powers effectively.
Schumer on CNN stops short of saying impeaching Trump would be a priority for Dems if they retake Congress

We expected 2,000 people out in GOP-held Greeley, Colorado.

11,000 people showed up.

Something special is happening, folks. Now is the time to organize in every dimension possible and get to work.

To move toward true democracy, we need a broad coalition with many views.

This makes it both broader and more narrow: Broader to include all who believe in preserving democracy, narrower because not all in similar movements truly support democracy.

E.g., some Democrats align with fascism.

also a demonstration of how over-caution can easily become dangerous. sometimes the less risky move is the bold and aggressive one. milling around like a lost sheep when a knife-wielding maniac is charging at you is not averting risk
One thing you really see every day is the different risk appetites between MAGA-era Republicans and Democrats. Basically compulsive, reckless, dangerous constant risk-seeking, versus almost comical levels of risk-aversion.

This has always been the weirdest thing about the Trump As Master Negotiator narrative: He is a toddler who will do anything you want as long as you tell him he's the handsomest boy in the daycare
All it takes.

The nicest thing about Cybertrucks so far is they deface and devalue themselves, so when I see one with a spray painted swastika or literal dog(e) shit on it, I feel happy someone got to the truck before (checks notes) its glued-on panels fall off an it crashes itself.

like, this is just fucking insane. the government is pretending that it passed the Inverse Civil Rights Act overnight and everyone is acting like it's a real law.
the thing about the Trump administration ordering federal contractors to stop DEI programs and Google capitulating so that they can sell drone optics to the Border Patrol is that the federal government has no fucking authority to order that

"Imagine writing the phrase “‘Genocide Joe’ never looked so good,” and saying to yourself, “Damn, that’s a keeper.” How do you sleep at night? Please go directly to hell."
I woke up this morning extremely angry about smug pundits using Trump's Gaza ethnic cleansing plan as an excuse to dunk on people who opposed Biden's genocide. So I blogged about it for @discourseblog.com www.discourseblog.com/p/using-geno...
What the Hell Is Wrong With You People
If your first reaction to a plan for ethnic cleansing is "LOL, perfect chance for a 2024 dunk," maybe examine your conscience.

so,tried to explain to Corey Robin that you can be a fascist & also be weak & incompetent. In fact, fascists almost have to be both; it's a cult of lies which eschews accountability.

Incompetent fascists have historically killed lots of ppl though. www.everythingishorrible.net/p/trumps-wea...
Trump’s Weakness Is Not At Odds With His Fascism
Contra Corey Robin, fascists are often weak and incompetent. Also dangerous.

Why "we" want insurance executives dead
No, that does not mean people should murder them. But if you've watched a loved one suffer and die from insurance denial, it's normal to wish the people responsible would suffer the same fate.
